What mobile pet grooming really costs in Dubai in 2026

Most groomers in Dubai will not tell you a price until you message them. That makes it very hard to know whether you are being quoted fairly. This guide fixes that.
The short answer
For a small to medium dog in Dubai, expect to pay roughly:
- AED 130 to AED 200 for a wash, nails and a tidy
- AED 190 to AED 320 for a full groom with a haircut
- AED 300 to AED 420 for a large or double-coated dog
For a cat, expect roughly:
- AED 150 to AED 250 for a basic groom
- AED 240 to AED 400 for a full groom or lion cut, depending on matting

The five things that change the price
1. Size
This is the biggest single factor. A Chihuahua takes 40 minutes. A Golden Retriever takes closer to two hours, uses far more shampoo and needs a much longer dry. Any groomer quoting one price for all dogs is either overcharging small dogs or losing money on large ones.
2. Coat type, not breed
A short-coated dog needs washing and drying. A curly-coated dog needs washing, drying, brushing out, then cutting, then finishing. That is roughly double the work. Poodles, Cockapoos, Cavapoos, Bichons and most doodles are all in the expensive category, whatever their size.
3. Condition of the coat
This is the one that catches people out. If a coat is matted, the groom takes longer and is harder on the animal. Most groomers will add to the price, and they are right to.
Practical example: a Cockapoo groomed every four weeks might cost AED 245. The same dog left for ten weeks might cost AED 320 and, worse, might have to be shaved rather than trimmed because the mats have reached the skin. Regular grooming is genuinely cheaper.
4. Mobile or salon
Mobile grooming costs more than salon grooming almost everywhere in the world, because one groomer serves one customer for the whole visit rather than three or four at once. In Dubai, the difference is typically AED 30 to AED 80 per groom.
What you get for that is no car journey, no waiting in a cage, no exposure to other animals, and no time lost driving across the city.
5. Extras
Nail clipping, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, anal glands, flea and tick treatment and de-shedding are usually charged separately unless they are already in the package. In Dubai these typically run AED 40 to AED 80 each. Ours are AED 50, and de-shedding is AED 70.
The charges to watch out for
Ask about these before you book, not after the van arrives.

We charge none of the first four, and VAT is always included. We are saying that here because it is genuinely unusual, and because you should be asking every groomer the same questions.
Why voucher deals are usually a false economy
You will see full grooms advertised on discount sites for AED 89 to AED 109. That is well below the cost of doing the job properly.
Something has to give, and it is usually one of these: the session is rushed to 25 minutes, several dogs share the space at once, the dryer is not used properly so the coat goes back damp, or the price rises sharply once they see your dog. Sometimes it is a genuine one-off promotion. Often it is not.
How to actually reduce what you spend
Go on a regular plan. Most Dubai groomers, ourselves included, discount regular bookings. Ours is 10% off every groom. Over a year on a monthly plan that is around AED 294 back.
Book more often, not less. This sounds backwards, but a coat groomed every four weeks costs less per groom than the same coat groomed every ten weeks, because it takes less time and never needs a rescue job.
Book multiple pets in one visit. You are paying for the groomer’s travel time whether you use it or not. Two pets in one visit almost always costs less than two separate visits.
Ask what your pet actually needs. A short-coated dog may not need a full groom at all. A basic groom plus a de-shed is often better and cheaper. Any groomer who will not have that conversation with you is selling, not advising.
